Welcome

Since 1998, Quinte Cremation & Burial Services Ltd has helped Belleville families find comfort following the loss of a loved one. As a transfer service, we are licensed by the Ontario Board of Funeral Services to provide cremation, shelter and facility services for those in need. For your family, our Ontario-licenced funeral director can assist in providing administration, documentation and cremation-related services. We are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Also, it is very important to note that we are the sole owners of Quinte Funeral Crematorium Ltd. in Belleville. We are the only licenced local transfer service who has our own local crematorium. The deceased is not brought to an out-of-town crematorium, or left with anyone outside of our organization. They are always in our care. We look after every aspect of the cremation process for you (from going to the place of death to picking up the cremated remains at our crematorium). Also, by owning our crematorium, this company has more flexibility to schedule cremations.

With our trusted services, we can help you make informed decisions on which service will best fulfill the wishes of your departed loved one. Our service costs are typically a quarter of what the funeral home charges. We also offer pre-arrangement services to help relieve families from the difficult planning and financial decisions that occur following a passing.

If you have any questions regarding cremation or our cremation services, please do not hesitate to contact us. A staff member is always on-call to assist you. You can also visit the Board of Funeral Services web site.

What is cremation, exactly?
In the cremation process, the body is placed within a specialized cremation chamber and heated to 1,800 to 2,000 degrees. Though many people refer to cremated remains as “ashes”, this is technically incorrect. The cremated remains are actually composed of the body’s basic elements.

Most religions, with the exception of Islam and Orthodox Judaism, approve of cremation. Our cremation service is also safe for the environment and complies with the 1990 Environmental Protection Act. Embalming fluids are not required, whether by law or practice, before a cremation can occur.
